Colonial Athletic Association, Wofford (WAHF'-urd) won its second
straight Southern Conference crown and Gonzaga took the West Coast
Conference to earn automatic bids into the NCAA men's basketball
tournament. They joined Belmont, Indiana State, Morehead State, and
UNC Asheville in the 68-team NCAA field that begins play a week
from tonight.
WASHINGTON (AP) - More talks are scheduled for today between the
NFL and its players union. Both sides are racing against a Friday
deadline in order to avoid the NFL's first work stoppage since

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) - The Oakland Raiders have named Chuck
Bresnahan their new defensive coordinator just weeks after bringing
him back for a second stint with the organization. Bresnahan
coached the Raiders' defensive backs in 1998-99 before becoming
