NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Yankees say they will wear patcheson their uniforms honoring the memory of owner George Steinbrenner,who died Tuesday, and longtime public address announcer BobSheppard. The Steinbrenner patch will be worn above theinterlocking NY on the pinstriped home uniform, and above the"York" on the road grays. The patch commemorating Sheppard willbe worn on the left sleeve of the home and away uniforms.

The federal doping investigation wasspurred by allegations made by disgraced 2006 Tour de France winnerFloyd Landis. He's charged that the use of banned substances wascommon on the US Postal team when he rode with seven-time Tourwinner Armstrong.
CLEVELAND (AP) - Cavaliers' owner Dan Gilbert has declinedoffers from some of the team's fans to help him pay the $100,000fine he was assessed for critical comments about LeBron James.Gilbert says he'll foot the bill himself, and encouraged those whooffered to help him pay to donate the money to charity instead.
