PHOENIX (AP) - The Phoenix Suns have added forward Hedo Turkoglu(HEE'-doo TUR'-kuh-loo) and swingman Josh Childress to their rosterafter completing trades with the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawksyesterday. The Raptors get Leandro Barbosa (bar-BOH'-suh) andforward Dwayne Jones for Turkoglu, who averaged a disappointing11.3 points in his lone season with Toronto. Childress was acquiredfrom the Hawks for a second-round pick in the 2012 draft afterspending the last two years playing in Greece.

ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves enter the second half of theseason with a new starting shortstop after acquiring Alex Gonzalezand a pair of prospects from Toronto in exchange for fellowshortstop Yunel Escobar and left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes. Gonzalez isbatting .259 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs. Escobar owns a .238average with no homers and 19 RBIs after batting .299 with 14 timeslast year.
CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy hasundergone successful surgery to repair a detached muscle in hisright shoulder. Peavy was injured July 6 after going 7-6 with a4.63 ERA in 17 starts this year. He will miss the rest of theseason and expects to be ready for spring training.
