Oosthuizen closed with a 1-under 71 andfinished 16-under while becoming the first player in 46 years toearn his first major championship at St. Andrews. Paul Caseyfinished in a three-way tie for third with first-round leader RoryMcIlroy and Henrik Stenson, eight shots off the pace.

NEW YORK (AP) - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez iswithin two homers of becoming the seventh player in major leaguehistory to hit 600 in his career. Rodriguez smacked his 598thround-tripper in yesterday's 9-5 win over Tampa Bay, leaving him 11behind Sammy Sosa for sixth on the all-time list. The victory gavethe Yankees a three-game lead over the Rays in the American LeagueEast.
