SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Manu Ginobili (MAN'-oo jih-NOH'-blee) scored 26 points and the San Antonio Spurs won their 19th in a row to tie the NBA record for longest winning streak kept alive in the playoffs, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-98 to open the Western Conference finals. The Spurs erased a nine-point deficit that stunned the Thunder, who were led by Kevin Durant's 27.
CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - Kasey Kahne (kayn) powered to victory in the Coca-Cola 600 last night, winning NASCAR's longest race for the third time. It's his first win with Hendrick Motorsports. He finished nearly five seconds ahead of Denny Hamlin with Kyle Busch third and Sprint Cup series points leader Greg Biffle fourth.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)- The Indianapolis 500 went to Scotland's Dario Franchitti (DA'-ree-oh fran-KEE'-tee) for the third time. In the winner's circle, Franchitti donned a pair of white sunglasses to honor Dan Wheldon, who won the 500 a year ago but was killed in a crash at Las Vegas in the final race of the 2011 season.
ATLANTA (AP)- The Washington Nationals finished a three-game sweep of Atlanta with a 7-2 victory over the Braves, who suffered their seventh straight loss. Gio Gonzalez struck out 10 and limited the Braves to just two runs on one hit over his seven innings while improving to 7-1.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Philadelphia fireballer Roy Halladay gave up a grand slam to Yadier Molina (YAH'-dee-ay moh-LEE'-nah) in an abbreviated two-inning start before leaving with shoulder soreness, and the St. Louis Cardinals avoided a four-game sweep with an 8-3 win over the Phillies. The Phillies were looking for their first four-game sweep in St. Louis in 99 years.
