HOUSTON (AP) - The Indianapolis Colts, who were 0-13 to start
the NFL season, are now on a two-game winning streak. Reggie Wayne
caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Dan Orlovsky with 19 seconds
left for the Colts' lone touchdown in their 19-16 win over
playoff-bound Houston.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Colts owner Jim Irsay says if Peyton Manning
plays football next season, it will be in Indianapolis. Irsay says
Manning is progressing from his neck injury, that his throwing arm
is getting stronger and that his greatest concern is Manning's
overall health.
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Kellen Moore went out a winner in his final
game as Boise State quarterback. Moore won his 50th game as the
eighth-ranked Broncos overwhelmed Arizona State 56-24 as Doug
Martin accounted for 301 all-purpose yards that included a 100-yard
return on the opening kickoff.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Carlos Beltran and the World Series champion
St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a two-year contract pending
results of a physical. That will help beef up the Cards lineup
following the departure of Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz), who left the
Cards to go to the L.A. Angels.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Kurt Busch has a new ride. Busch, who
became one of NASCAR's most polarizing figures this past season,
will return to the Sprint Cup series in 2012 to drive the No. 51
car for Phoenix Racing and owner James Finch after driving
previously for Jack Roush and Roger Penske.
