KWBG Sports for December 7th

DALLAS (AP) --At the winter meetings in Dallas, the Miami
Marlins are making a serious run for the No. 1 free agent on the
market, Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz). The Marlins, who already have
reached deals with shortstop Jose Reyes (RAY'-uhs) and closer Heath
Bell in this offseason, reportedly have offered the three-time NL
MVP a 10-year deal worth around $200 million and St. Louis made its
own bid to retain Pujols yesterday.

WINNIPEG, Alberta (AP) - Ondrej Pavelec (AWN'-dray
PAH'-veh-lehk) made 39 saves and Bryan Little scored to help the
Winnipeg Jets upset the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston
Bruins 2-1. The Bruins lost in regulation for the first time since
Oct. 29, ending a 15 game stretch in which they earned 29 of a
possible 30 points.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Dion Waiters had 15 points and Kris Joseph
had 11 and eight rebounds, as No. 3 Syracuse on Tuesday continued
to win amid a federal investigation, this time outlasting Marshall,
62-56, at the Carrier Dome. It was the third game for the Orange
(9-0) since former associate head coach Bernie Fine was fired after
allegations by three men that he sexually molested them as minors.
Fine has maintained he's innocent.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - The lawyer for a 19-year-old man says
his client has filed a complaint with state police alleging he was
sexually abused by Jerry Sandusky after the former coach gave him
liquor on the Penn State campus in 2004. Charles Schmidt says his
client, whom he did not identify, went to his law firm about three
weeks ago, after Sandusky was charged with sexually abusing eight
boys over a 15-year period. Sandusky has denied the charges.

NEW YORK (AP) -The NBA announced its condensed, 66-game schedule
and it will require every team to play on three consecutive nights
at least once. The Atlanta Hawks appeared to get one of the worst
draws, having to play nine times in the opening 12 nights of the
NBA season.
