NEW YORK (AP) - A person familiar with the deal tells The
Associated Press the Denver Nuggets will send All-Star forward
Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks in a multi-player swap. The person
provided no other details of who was in the deal, but the Denver
Post reports the Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton,
Danilo Gallinari (dah-NIH'-loh gah-lih-NAHR'-ee), Timofey Mozgov
and a first-round pick in 2014 to Denver, along with additional
picks and cash. New York would receive Chauncey Billups, Shelden
Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.
MIAMI (AP) - Dwyane (dwayn) Wade practiced with his Miami Heat
teammates Monday afternoon and plans to play Tuesday night against
Sacramento. Wade aggravated a right ankle injury during Sunday's
NBA All-Star game but says the pain isn't serious enough to miss
any playing time.
UNDATED (AP) - In top 25 college basketball action Monday night,
Number 3 Kansas had its way with Oklahoma State , 92 to 69. Number
17 Syracuse edged Number 15 Villanova 65 to 64.
UNDATED (AP) - Duke is back atop The Associated Press men's
basketball poll, capturing 35 of 65 first-place votes following
losses by the top four teams in last week's poll. Second-ranked
Ohio State picked up 10 first-place votes and is followed in the
poll by Kansas, Pittsburgh, Texas, San Diego State, BYU, Purdue,
Notre Dame and Arizona. St. John's is the newcomer in the poll,
debuting at No. 23 after Saturday's win over Pittsburgh.
UNDATED (AP) - Alex Ovechkin scored late in the second period
and Michal Neuvirth (NOY'-vahrth) stopped 39 shots as the
Washington Capitals beat the Penguins 1-0 in Pittsburgh. Jonathan
Toews (tayvz) and Patrick Kane each had a goal and an assist while
the Blackhawks were scoring four times in the second period of a
5-3 triumph in St. Louis. And the New York Islanders posted a 5-1
victory against the visiting Florida Panthers as Matt Moulson
registered his second career hat trick.
