CHICAGO (AP) - Luol Deng (LOO'-ul dehng) swished a three-pointer
with 16 seconds left to break a tie and send the Chicago Heat to a
93-89 win over the Miami Heat. Derrick Rose had 26 and Deng
finished with 20 in a game that could have playoff seeding
implications in the Eastern Conference.

MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - When the dust settled in the desert on the
second day of the Match Play Championship, the lone remaining No. 1
seed left at the Match Play event is Martin Kaymer (KY'-mur), who
needed two extra holes to defeat Justin Rose. Phil Mickelson and
Lee Westwood both lost yesterday, joining Tiger Woods, who was
eliminated on opening day.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Miguel Cabrera has arrived at spring
training for the first time since he was arrested last week on
suspicion of drunken driving. He promptly apologized as Major
League Baseball said he will undergo treatment set up by doctors
administered by management and its players' union.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - NFL coaches and general managers now know
what they can and cannot do if there is a lockout. NFL officials
spent 45 minutes yesterday updating team decision-makers about
negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement, what is
expected over the next 10 days before the current CBA runs out and
possible contingency plans with talks slated to resume next
Tuesday.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The NFL will recommend team doctors and
trainers use a standardized sideline test to diagnose concussions
next season. The announcement is scheduled for this morning at the
league's annual scouting combine in Indianapolis.
