KWBG Sport for October 11th


DETROIT (AP) - The third game of the American League
Championship Series is being played in Detroit this evening. The
series shifts from Arlington, Texas, where last night the Rangers
took a 2-0 lead over the Tigers with a 7-3 win. Nelson Cruz wrapped
up the win for the Rangers with an 11th inning grand slam.
Tonight's pitching matchup has Doug Fister going for the Tigers
against Colby Lewis.
   
     MILWAUKEE (AP) - Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz) had a monster night
last night, going 4-for-5 with a homer, three doubles and five
RBIs, as St. Louis beat Milwaukee 12-3. The victory evened the
best-of-seven National League Championship Series at one win
apiece. Today is an off day for the Cards and Brewers before
resuming play tomorrow in St. Louis.
   
     NEW YORK (AP) - NBA commissioner David Stern has announced that
the first two weeks of the 2011-2012 season have been canceled. The
commissioner says the two sides in the ongoing labor dispute remain
far apart.
   
     DETROIT (AP) - In case you missed the NFL game last night, the
surprising Detroit Lions beat the rival Chicago Bears 24-13. The
Lions are unbeaten after five games this season. Quarterback
Matthew Stafford led the way by throwing for 219 yards and two
touchdowns.
   
     UNDATED (AP) - Just two games comprise tonight's NHL schedule.
The Penguins open up the home portion of their schedule with a game
against Florida, while Minnesota is playing in Ottawa against the
Senators.
