DETROIT (AP) - The New York Yankees' season could end tonight.
The Detroit Tigers rallied on a Delmon Young opposite-field home
run for a 5-4 victory that gives them a 2-1 lead in their
best-of-five AL Division Series heading into tonight's Game 4 at
Comerica Park.
   
     ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - The Texas Rangers can advance to the
AL Championship Series with a victory today against Tampa Bay
following their 4-3 win over the Rays last night. Colby Lewis
outpitched All-Star David Price and Mike Napoli (NAP'-oh-lee) hit a
two-run homer for the defending AL champion Rangers.
   
     ST. LOUIS (AP) - Yesterday's travel day gave the Cardinals a
welcome chance to recharge their bullpen after six relievers helped
St. Louis tie the best-of-five series against the Philadelphia
Phillies at one game apiece with a come-from-behind 5-4 win Sunday
night. Today the Red Birds go with Jaime (HY'-mee) Garcia against
fellow lefty Cole Hamels in Game 3 at Busch Stadium in this NL
Division Series.
   
     PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks face a must-win Game 3
tonight at home when they play the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers, who
are up 2-0 in that NL Division Series. It's Shaun Marcum of the
Brewers scheduled to go against Josh Collmenter in tonight's game.
   
     TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Josh Freeman threw for 287 yards and a
touchdown, LeGarrette Blount ran for 127 yards and a score, and the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Indianapolis 24-17. The Colts fell to 0-4
without All-Pro quarterback Peyton Manning and are one of four
winless teams in the NFL.
