ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - C.J. Wilson threw 6 2-3 scoreless
innings allowing just four singles for his 13th victory as Texas
blanked Boston 4-0. Mike Napoli hit a three-run homer off of Boston
starter Erik Bedard (beh-DARD') who is 0-2 in his four starts for
the Red Sox since being acquired from Seattle last month
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ryan Doumit (DOH'-miht) homered and drove in
two runs as the Pittsburgh ended more than a year of futility
against Milwaukee with a 9-2 win in the second game of a
doubleheader. The Brewers took the opener 8-1 for their 13th
straight victory over Pittsburgh.
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Jacoby Ellsbury likely will return to
Boston's lineup tonight against Texas and designated hitter David
Ortiz could also play in the series with the Rangers. Ellsbury has
been out of the starting lineup for three games since being hit in
the back with a pitch. Ortiz hasn't played since last Tuesday
because of bursitis in his right heel.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Rams have cut long snapper Chris
Massey who was the longest tenured player on the roster. The
32-year-old was a seventh-round draft pick in 2002. He lost out to
rookie Jake McQuaide.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt will
meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (guh-DEHL') to discuss his
arrests during the lockout, and he's praying he doesn't get
suspended. Britt made lots of headlines during the NFL lockout with
two arrests in New Jersey, and he also surrendered himself on two
arrest warrants in Tennessee. The 2009 first-round draft pick out
of Rutgers has had seven incidents with police since being drafted.
