when they return from their bye week to face Indianapolis on
Sunday. Jackson hasn't played since he was injured in a nasty
head-on collision with Atlanta cornerback Dunta Robinson on Oct.
17. Robinson returned to Falcons practice yesterday for the first
time since suffering a concussion on the Jackson hit.

BOSTON (AP) - Adrian Beltre (BEHL'-tray) has declined a $10
million player option that would have kept him with the Red Sox
next year, opting instead to take a $1 million buyout. If the Bosox
decline to pick up their $12.5 million option on the 31-year-old
Beltre by Thursday, he'll become a free agent. Beltran led Boston
with a .321 average, tied for the club lead with 102 RBIs, hit a
career-high 49 doubles and homered 28 times.

CINCINNATI (AP) - The Cincinnati Reds have exercised 2001
options for pitcher Bronson Arroyo and left fielder Jonny Gomes
(gohmz). Arroyo went 17-10 with a 3.88 earned run average in 215
2/3 innings for the NL Central champs this year. The Reds declined
options on pitcher Aaron Harang (huh-RANG') and shortstop Orlando
Cabrera, thus granting them free agency.

UNDATED (AP) - The New York Mets have picked up their $11
million option on shortstop Jose Reyes for 2011. Reyes hit .282
with 10 triples, 11 homers and 30 stolen bases in 133 games for the
Mets last season. And the Chicago Cubs say third baseman Aramis
(ah-RAH'-mihs) Ramirez has exercised his $14.6 million option and
will return to the team next season.

UNDATED (AP) - The Atlanta Hawks remain the NBA's only unbeaten
team in the Eastern Conference after Marvin Williams scored 22
points and Al Horford notched a double-double in a 100-88 triumph
at Cleveland. The Miami Heat won their fourth in a row since
dropping their season opener as Dwyane (dwayn) Wade provided a
team-high 26 points in a 129-97 pounding of Minnesota. Boston also
improved to 4-1, thanks in part to Kevin Garnett's game-high 22
points in a 109-86 rout of Detroit.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington Wizards rookie John Wall had his
best game being taken first overall in this year's NBA draft. Wall
finished with 29 points, 13 assists and nine steals to lead
Washington's 116-115 overtime win against Philadelphia. One of
Wall's assists led to Cartier Martin's game-tying basket with 0.3
seconds left in regulation.

UNDATED (AP) - The Minnesota Wild earned a 1-0 victory over San
Jose last night despite being outshot 36-16. Niklas Backstrom
notched his first shutout of the season while helping Minnesota
kill off the Sharks' five power plays. Columbus blanked Montreal
3-0, Ottawa topped Toronto 3-2 and Raffi Torres recorded a hat
trick in Vancouver's 4-3 verdict over Edmonton.

NEW YORK (AP) - Television ratings for this year's World Series
equaled the lowest ever. The San Francisco Giants' five-game
victory over the Texas Rangers equaled the 2008 Phillies-Rays
lowest-rated World Series and this year's ratings were down 28
percent from last year's Phillies-Yankees series.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Two people with knowledge of Randy Moss'
status tell The Associated Press that the Minnesota Vikings have
waived the six-time All-Pro receiver. If Moss is not claimed, he
will be free to sign a new contract with any team and the Vikings
would be on the hook for rest of his salary.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Edgar Renteria (ren-tuh-REE'-uh) belted
a three-run homer and Tim Lincecum (LIHN'-sih-kuhm) allowed three
hits and a run over eight innings of a 3-1 victory over Texas that
gives the San Francisco Giants their first World Series title in 56
years. Renteria belted two go-ahead homers against the Rangers and
was named MVP of the Fall Classic.

NEW YORK (AP) - Rangers ace Cliff Lee, Yankees shortstop Derek
Jeter and Phillies right fielder Jayson Werth are among the 142
players who have become free agents following the World Series.
Under an agreement between players and owners announced Sept. 30,
players no longer need to file for free agency. Teams now have a
five-day exclusive negotiating period with their own free agents.
That's down from 15 days.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Vikings are cutting ties with
Randy Moss, the six-time Pro Bowl receiver they acquired last month
from the Patriots in exchange for a third-round pick draft pick.
Moss returned to New England on Sunday and was wistful about his
days with the AFC East leaders following Minnesota's 28-18 loss and
critical of the Vikings for not taking his game-planning advice.

UNDATED (AP) - The Bulls have knocked Portland from the NBA's
unbeaten ranks, and the Los Angeles Clippers are still looking for
their first win. Luol Deng exploded for a career-high 40 points
while leading Chicago to a 110-98 victory over the now 3-1 Blazers,
and San Antonio dropped the Clips to 0-4 with a 97-88 win in L.A.

PHOENIX (AP) - The Phoenix Suns have extended the contract of
forward Jared Dudley, the team's hustling defender and sharpshooter
off the bench the past two seasons. The four-year, $17 million deal
with a player option for a fifth year takes effect next season.
That would keep the fan-favorite Dudley under contract until at
least the 2014-15 season.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Brett Favre says he'll be "fine"
after needing 10 stitches to close a laceration on his face that
knocked him out of Minnesota's 28-18 loss at New England. The

ankle but extended his NFL record for consecutive starts to 292.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The surprising Tampa Bay Bucs won their
fifth straight road game by holding off Arizona 38-25 and are tied

14-point lead over Hamlin with Harvick 38 back
