career by rallying Minnesota from 14 points down in the final 4 1/2
minutes as the Vikings pulled out a 27-24 overtime victory over
Arizona. The 41-year-old Favre threw for a career-high 446 yards
and two touchdown and two interceptions, directing the Vikes on
scoring drives of 40 and 77 yards at the end of regulation to force
OT.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys' nightmare of a season
continues. Aaron Rodgers tossed three TD passes and the Green Bay
Packers mauled the hapless Cowboys 45-7, dropping Dallas to 1-7 as
the Cowboys continue their worst start since going 1-15 in 1989.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The streaking Oakland Raiders beat Kansas
City 23-20 in overtime for their third straight victory as
Sebastien Janikowski booted a game-winning 33-yard field goal
following his game-tying 41-yard field goal at the end of
regulation that forced OT. The Raiders go into their bye week a
half-game back of Kansas City in the AFC West.
CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Browns have racked up
back-to-back upsets. Two weeks ago they knocked off the defending
Super Bowl champion Saints in New Orleans, the Browns posted a
34-14 upset win over New England as rookie Browns QB Colt McCoy
scrambled for a touchdown and running back Peyton Hillis racked up
a career-high 184 yards rushing.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - With two races left in the Chase for
the Sprint Cup Championship, Denny Hamlin has taken over the lead
after winning in Texas for the second time this season. Hamlin has
a 33-point lead over four-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson
and is 59 points ahead of Kevin Harvick in third.
