Unranked Florida State got 22 points from Derwin Kitchen and the
Seminoles knocked off the top-ranked defending national champions
66-61, handing Duke its first defeat since it lost to Maryland last
March 3.
UNDATED (AP) - The four other unbeaten teams in the AP rankings
were in action last night - and all won. Second-ranked Ohio State
beat Michigan 68-64, third-ranked Kansas topped Iowa State 84-79,
fourth-ranked Syracuse topped St. John's 76-59 and sixth-ranked San
Diego State beat UNLV 55-49.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Clippers ended the Miami
Heat's attempt for a franchise record 14th straight road victory by
upsetting the Heat 111-105 last night. Eric Gordon scored 26 for
the Clippers, who ended Miami's nine-game overall streak.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Marcus Thornton scored 22 and Emeka Okafor
(eh-MEH'-kuh OH'-kuh-fohr) had 18 points and 14 rebounds in the New
Orleans Hornets' 92-89 overtime win over Orlando. That ends the
Magic's nine-game winning streak.
DIAMONDHEAD, Miss. (AP) - Police say Brandi Favre (fahrv), the
34-year-old sister of Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, faces felony
drug charges after she was arrested in a raid on a Mississippi
condo where people were making crystal methamphetamine. Brandi
Favre is in custody and has an initial court appearance scheduled
this morning.
