KWBG Sports for January 28th

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - Top-ranked Rafael Nadal couldn't
overcome a leg injury and was eliminated from the Australian Open
in straight sets by fellow Spaniard David Ferrer. Fifth-seeded Andy
Murray posted a quarterfinals victory and will meet the No. 7 seed
in the semifinals.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - In women's play Wednesday in
Melbourne, Vera Zvonareva (zvahn-uh-RAY'-vuh) and Kim Clijsters
(KLY'-sturz) won in straight sets. The second and third seeds will
go head to head in the semifinals.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Syracuse has lost its third basketball
game in a row following an 18-0 start. The third-ranked Orange got
hammered 90-68 by visiting Seton Hall.

BOSTON (AP) - The Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics
bounced back from a loss to the struggling Washington Wizards by
beating the equally-if-not-more inept Cavaliers 112-95. It's
Cleveland's 18th loss in a row, dropping the Cavs record to an
NBA-worst 8-37 in the post-LeBron James era.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Texas Rangers have traded former
closer Frank Francisco and cash to Toronto for catcher-first
baseman Mike Napoli. It's a win-win deal for both, with the AL
champions obtaining a much-needed versatile bat off the bench and
the Blue Jays adding depth to their bullpen.
