KWBG Sports for October 14th

ATLANTA (AP) - Fredi Gonzalez was introduced yesterday as the
new manager of the Atlanta Braves. Gonzalez previously managed the
Florida Marlins, going 276-279 in 3 1/2 seasons before he was
dismissed four months ago. He also served three years as the
Braves' third base coach under Bobby Cox, who retired after leading
the team to 15 playoff berths since 1991.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre
(fahrv) says he would consider missing a game or two if the pain in
his throwing elbow gets worse. Favre has started an NFL-record 289
consecutive games but did not practice yesterday as he tries to
alleviate the tendinitis in his right elbow.

FLORHAM, N.J. (AP) - Jets coach Rex Ryan will decide whether
Darrelle Revis (duh-REHL' REE'-vihs) will play in New York's next
game at Denver on Sunday after saying he mistakenly allowed the
star cornerback to make that determination for Monday's game. Revis
played in New York's 29-20 victory over Minnesota but said his left
hamstring was "very sore" and bothered him throughout the game.

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) - Oakland Raiders quarterback Bruce
Gradkowski sat out practice Wednesday with an injured right
shoulder that could sideline him for this week's game against the
San Francisco 49ers. Jason Campbell is approaching this week as if
he will start after replacing Gradkowski in the first quarter of
Sunday's win against San Diego. Campbell completed 13 of 18 passes
for 159 yards and a touchdown, leading the Raiders to touchdown
drives of 97 and 73 yards in the second half.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has
been fined for faking an injury to keep from playing in the team's
home preseason opener. Wizards coach Flip Saunders says Arenas
claimed to have a sore knee before Tuesday night's outing against
Atlanta. Arenas said after the game that he pretended to have a bum
knee to give teammate Nick Young a chance to start.
