KWBG Sports for October 26th

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys lost quarterback Tony
Romo to a broken collarbone in the first half, en route to a 41-35
loss to division-rival New York that drops Dallas to 1-5 on the
season. The NFC East-leading Giants improve to 5-2. Romo is
expected to miss eight to 10 weeks.

TORONTO (AP) - Fourteen years after ending his pitching career,
and after four seasons as pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox,
John Farrell has his first managerial job -- at any level. He's the
new bench boss of the Toronto Blue Jays, replacing Cito (SEE'-toh)
Gaston, who left the post at the end of the season.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The World Series participants will have
their final pre-Fall Classic workouts today in San Francisco. The
Giants and Texas Rangers will play Game 1 in the best-of-seven
showdown for the championship tomorrow night in the City by the
Bay.

UNDATED (AP) - The three-game schedule on the opening night of a
new NBA season tips off tonight with a showdown between two of the
top teams in the East. LeBron James, Dwyane (dwayn) Wade, Chris
Bosh and the Miami Heat visit Boston to take on a Celtics club
that's added Shaquille O'Neal to a Big Three of Paul Pierce, Ray
Allen and Kevin Garnett (7:30 p.m. Eastern).

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Michal Handzus (HAND'-zoos) scored in the
fifth round of a shootout to give Los Angeles a 3-2 road win over
the Minnesota Wild. The Kings fifth win in six games gives them
sole possession of first place in the NHL's Pacific Division race,
two points better than idle San Jose.
