KWBG Sports for December 16th

CLEVELAND (AP) - Former Cleveland Indians pitcher and Hall of
Famer Bob Feller has died of acute leukemia at age 92. Feller spent
his entire career with Cleveland, breaking in at age 17 in 1936
before tossing three no-hitters and a major league-record 12
one-hitters. He finished with a team-record 266 victories and 2,581
strikeouts over 18 seasons, missing four years while serving in the
U.S. Navy during World War II.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Cliff Lee and the Phillies have finalized a
$120 million, five-year contract that brings the star pitcher back
to Philadelphia after he spurned more lucrative offers from the New
York Yankees and Texas Rangers. The lefty helped the Rangers win
their first AL pennant this year, one season after he was part of
the NL pennant-winning Phillies. The two-time All-Star and 2008 AL
Cy Young Award winner chose to rejoin the Phillies and combine with
Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt (OHZ'-wahlt) and Cole Hamels to form a
dynamic starting rotation.

UNDATED (AP) - The Colorado Rockies and free agent infielder Ty
Wigginton have agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with a club
option for 2013. Rich Harden has agreed to terms on a one-year
contract to rejoin the Athletics, pending a physical. And the
Associated Press has learned that the Los Angeles Dodgers are close
to signing reliever Matt Guerrier (gah-REER') to a three-year
contract.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The New Jersey Nets have shipped
swingman Terrence Williams to the Houston Rockets in a three-team
deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nets received the Rockets'
first-round draft pick in 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers' first-round
pick next year and shooting guard Sasha Vujacic (VOO'-yah-chihch)
from the Lakers. L.A. picked up veteran forward Joe Smith.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia has hired Dana Holgorsen
as its offensive coordinator for 2011 and plan to make him head
football coach in 2012. Holgorson just completed a successful
season as offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State as the Cowboys
led the Bowl Subdivision with 537.6 yards per game. He will replace
head coach Bill Stewart, who the school says will take an
administrative role after the 2011 season.
