ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Josh Smith scored 19 points and pulled in
13 rebounds to lead Atlanta to an 80-74 win over Orlando. The Hawks
won despite shooting 39 percent. They've won six of seven games to
move to within 1 1/2 games of the first-place Magic in the NBA
Southeast Division.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Mikhail Grabovski scored the only goal of the
shootout to help Toronto overcome a three-goal deficit and beat
Washington 5-4. The Maple Leafs scored three times in the third
period with Clarke MacArthur's goal tying the game with 1:24 to go.
NEW YORK (AP) - Oregon's Chip Kelly has been named the winner of
the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award, voted on by the
Football Writers Association of America. Kelly led the
second-ranked and unbeaten Ducks to a berth in the BCS title game
where they will meet Auburn for the national championship.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana is set to hire Oklahoma's offensive
coordinator Kevin Wilson to be their new head coach Tuesday a
person with knowledge of the search confirmed to The Associated
Press. Wilson will succeed Bill Lynch who posted losing records in
each of his last three seasons.
UNDATED (AP) - Auburn quarterback Cam Newton and Oregon running
back LaMichael James are among the four finalists for the Heisman
Trophy that will be awarded Saturday. They're joined by
quarterbacks Andrew Luck of Stanford and Kellen Moore of Boise
State.
