ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Former Cy Young Award winner Jake Peavy
made his long-awaited return to the Chicago White Sox rotation last
night after getting activated from the 15-day disabled list - 10
months after season-ending shoulder surgery. Peavy went six
innings, throwing 87 pitches, allowing four runs on seven hits, but
was not involved in the decision - the White Sox' 6-4 win in 10
innings over the L.A. Angels.

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Heat await the winner of the
Chicago-Atlanta series in the upcoming Eastern Conference finals.
Dwayne (dwayn) Wade scored 34, LeBron James scored the final 10
points and finished with 33 in the Heat's series-clinching 97-87
win that eliminated the Boston Celtics in five games.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - After an overtime loss and a triple-over
victory in their last two games, the Oklahoma City Thunder enjoyed
a laugher with a 99-72 blowout of Memphis to take a 3-2 lead in
that Western Conference semifinal. Kevin Durant had 19 for the
Thunder, who can clinch the series with a win Friday night in
Memphis.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Robert "Tractor" Traylor, the
former nine-year NBA vet and University of Michigan standout, is
being remembered as a "gentle giant" and a fan favorite. The
34-year-old, 6-foot-8, 300-pound Traylor collapsed and died in
Puerto Rico of an apparent heart attack.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings can reach the NHL
Western Conference finals and the history books tonight. The Red
Wings are trying to become the fourth NHL team to win a series from
a 0-3 playoff deficit when they play the San Jose Sharks tonight.
