CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Bulls got 28 points from league MVP
Derrick Rose and a stellar defensive effort from Luol Deng (LOO'-ul
dehng) in their 103-82 victory in the opener of the NBA Eastern
Conference final. Deng scored 21 points and held LeBron James to 15
points on five-of-15 shooting.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - It's the Oklahoma City Thunder against the
Dallas Mavericks starting tomorrow night in Big D for the NBA
Western Conference title. The Thunder eliminated Memphis 105-90 in
Game 7 behind Kevin Durant's 39 points and Russell Westbrook's
first career playoff triple double - 14 points, 14 assists and 10
rebounds.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Henrik Sedin (seh-DEEN')
scored the game-winning goal on a power play with 11:39 left to
give the Vancouver Canucks a come-from-behind 3-2 win over San Jose
in the NHL Western Conference final. Roberto Luongo turned back 27
shots between the pipes for the Canucks, who also have home ice
advantage for Game 2 on Wednesday night.

NEW YORK (AP) - Kevin Youkilis hit a tying three-run homer,
David Ortiz had a go-ahead homer as the Boston Red Sox finished a
three-game weekend sweep in the Bronx with a 7-5 win over the New
York Yankees. The victory moved the Red Sox to the .500 mark, just
three back of AL East-leading Tampa Bay.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Texas A&M has turned its
basketball program over to Billy Kennedy, a former Aggies assistant
who twice has been Ohio Valley Conference coach of the year in his
five seasons at Murray State. He replaces Mark Turgeon, who is
replacing retiring Gary Williams at Maryland.
