DALLAS (AP) - Dirk Nowitzki set an NBA playoff record by hitting
all 24 of his free throws while scoring a game-high 48 points in
the Dallas Mavericks' 121-112 win over Oklahoma City in Game One of
the Western Conference finals. Jason Terry finished with 24 points
for the Mavs, who never trailed after a 13-0 run late in the second
quarter. The Thunder led by as many as nine in the second quarter
but lost despite Kevin Durant's 40 points.

SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the NBA
draft lottery with a little help from the Los Angeles Clippers. The
Cavs acquired an extra pick from the Clippers in a deal involving
Baron Davis, and it turned into No. 1 selection. The Cavaliers also
secured the fourth selection, Minnesota will pick second and Utah
will choose third.

BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Bruins have evened the NHL's Eastern
Conference finals at a game apiece by downing Tampa Bay 6-5. Tyler
Seguin (SAY'-gihn) had two goals and two assists while the Bruins
were scoring five times in the second period to take a 6-3 lead.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Baseball Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew has
lost his battle with esophageal (ee-sah-fuh-JEE'-ihl) cancer, dying
yesterday at age 74 with his wife and family at his side. Killebrew
was a Minnesota baseball icon after the franchise was transferred
from Washington, hitting most of his 573 career home runs with the
Twins and Senators before finishing his career with the 1975
Royals. He's currently 11th on the all-time home run list after
sitting in fifth place upon his retirement.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - NFL owners and players have wrapped up
another round of court-ordered mediation without any sign of a new
agreement. Officials and attorneys for both sides say they'll
return before U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan on June 7, four
days after an appeals court hearing on the legality of the ongoing
lockout. Neither side discussed any specifics, though Hall of Famer
and representative of retired players Carl Eller said he believes
this week's session included progress.
